Pokémon 30th Celebration

The Pokémon TCG's 30th-anniversary set — the first release in the game's history to land worldwide on the same day, so South Africa got it alongside Japan and the US. Every card is foil, and every pack hides one of 30 special Pikachu.

Everything in 30th Celebration

30th Celebration is the special expansion marking the Pokémon TCG's 30th anniversary — and it's built unlike any normal set. Every one of its 199 cards is foil, booster packs hold five cards instead of the usual ten, and every pack contains one of 30 unique Pikachu. Alongside the main set sit 33 secret rares, a 30-card Classic Collection of reprinted classics, and a brand-new Futuristic rarity debuting on Mewtwo and Mew — all wrapped in a day-and-night theme led by Espeon and Umbreon.

It's a landmark for South African collectors: this is the first set in Pokémon TCG history to release simultaneously worldwide, so there was no waiting months for a local drop. It landed here on 16 September 2026, the same day as Japan and the US.

What's inside

Foil in every pack

30th Celebration packs are only sold inside sealed products — Elite Trainer Boxes, ex Boxes, tins, blisters and bundles. Each pack holds five foil cards (one a Pikachu), a foil Basic Energy and a Pokémon TCG Live code card. The Classic Collection cards keep their original numbering, so a Base Set Charizard still reads 4/102 — a real treat for longtime collectors.

FAQ

Questions, answered

When did 30th Celebration release in South Africa?

16 September 2026. It was the first Pokémon TCG set to release everywhere in the world on the same day, so South Africa got it at the same time as Japan and the US rather than waiting for an import window.

What's inside a 30th Celebration booster pack?

Five foil cards — including one of 30 unique Pikachu — plus a foil Basic Energy and a Pokémon TCG Live code card. Every card in this set is foil, and packs are only available inside sealed products, not sold individually.

How many cards are in the set?

199 in total: 128 main-set cards (including the 30 Pikachu), 33 secret rares, 30 Classic Collection reprints and 8 foil Basic Energy cards.

What are the chase cards?

The new Futuristic rares on Mewtwo and Mew, the connected legendary-bird illustration rares (Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, which join into one artwork), and the full run of 30 Pikachu.

Are your 30th Celebration products genuine and sealed?

Yes — everything is genuine, factory-sealed product. We're a physical store in Cape Town and ship nationwide across South Africa.

Do you deliver across South Africa, and what does it cost?

We ship nationwide from Cape Town. Delivery is free on orders over R2,000; smaller orders are charged at checkout.
